The bloomers are knitted back and forth on double pointed needles or a circular needle. At first you knit the front piece from the top to bottom, before you bind off stitches on each side for the leg openings. Then you increase the amount of stitches in the sides, and the back piece is knitted from the bottom to the top. The bloomers are sewn together on each side. Around the leg opening you knit garter stitch. Lastly you make a cord to have in the waistband, and the top edge of the bloomer is folded and sewn down over the cord. You may knit the waist and cord in a contrast color (color B). 

The elastic structure of the bloomer makes sure it will fit well, and for a long time, on your baby.

Sizes: 0-3 mos (3-6 mos) 6-9 mos (1-2 yrs) 2-3 yrs

Needle size: For the two smallest sizes you will need double pointed needles 3 and 3,5 mm. For the three biggest sizes you will need double pointed needles 3 mm, and circular needles 3 and 3,5 mm (40 or 60cm).
Gauge: Structural knit: 25 sts per 10 cm on needle size 3,5 mm
Yarn quantity: 50 (50) 100 (100) 100 g. You may knit in a main color (color A), and the waist and cord in a contrast color (color B, about 10-20 g).
