Supporting Your Parish Through COVID-19 Pandemic
 
Our church (all churches) relies completely on our ability to attend mass, worship together, and support the ministry and life that Jesus modeled for us, including tithing... those that may rely on the collection basket can look here as a way to continue your own personal giving while not attending mass during this period.  Below are some ways you can continue to support your parish through charitable giving.
 
  • Weekly Collection Basket - Use our collection basket during mass for your envelope/donation
  • Online Giving - Use our online portal to set up recurring gifts (more details below)
  • Office Drop-Off - Secure Depository Box located by the entrance to the Office.
  • U.S. Mail - Mail your weekly envelope with your contribution to the church:

Each of these options are provided as a convenient alternative to the weekly offering typically collected during mass.  Please consider continuing your contributions by using one of the methods above.  If you need to discuss and alternative method, please contact the Parish office at 956-565-1141.

NEW!  U.S. CARES Act Expands Deductions for Charitable Giving (April 2, 2020)
The recent Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) allows you to claim an "above-the-line" deduction of up to $300 for cash donations you make to Our Lady of Mercy (charities) if you normally use the standard deduction.  Contact your financial advisor to learn more.
 
NEW!  Online Charitable Giving Gains Popularity Among OLM Parishioners  (April 21, 2020) 
As the inability for OLM parishioners to attend mass weekly has continues due to the pandemic, the challenges to contribute to the collection through envelopes and the collection basket have made it  necessary for parishioners to seek alternative ways to give regularly.  While many continue to use the drop boxes provided at the office entrance, others have turned to contributing online using OLM's Online Giving.  This allows for a host of options including setting up automatic contributions.  Over the last month, more and more parishioners have turned to using this method over driving to the office or dropping them in the mail.  Payments are received immediately by the church and processing them makes it better and quicker for the church.  The convenience that parishioners find include a permanent record for them and their tax records that they can download anytime they need.  Parishioners that are inclined to use technology for purchases and other transactions will find the process simple and convenient.  See details on our website below.

  • All contributions go directly to Our Lady of Mercy Church
  • Create an account (recommended) and donate once or regularly and monitor/track your contributions
  • Use the "Quick Give" option to make one-time contributions without an account
  • Contribute to one of many different funds that support Our Lady of Mercy and its ministries
